I was a visual artist long before I ever knew what that was. As a child I was always a tinkerer who loved to build and create all sorts of projects. It wasn't until I was beginning my career as a researcher for NASA that I realized I had an interest in recording the visual worked around me. It all started with my father's film camera which I still have today. That first enlargement, of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1987, started me on a long journey of recording the visual world around me. After tinkering with almost all aspects of photography, I took a 15 year hiatus while my daughter was young and digital was being born.
